Made from slightly velvet wood, supplier told this is amore tree. Can be used as a talisman or an amulet. Its soft and tender lines reveal unique color of the amore wood, as if the texture shows us some vulnerable, almost erotic character of the Mesmerising Creatures of the Woods collection.
Magenta Angel is one of the most preventatives of the Mesmerising Creatures. It was one of the first sculptures I made in 2022, after the invasion of Ukraine. My son found some rare wooden parts and said - make some sculptures, converting hard times into artworks and I will help you make a gallery.
So this was one of the first works, as I recall. Made in Kharkiv, city of metal and concrete, city hero. During constant shelling of the city, blackouts, this beautiful sculpture with eloquent lines was born.
It's a miniature sculpture, about 7x5 cm, covered in matte lacquer.
Magenta Angel is a rare habitat of the Woods. While its presence is mostly unnoticeable - gently shaped and coated in violet skin - it guards the creatures from far above. Sometimes the angel can be found sitting in the short grass near the pond, while his essence flows with the stream of fish or wandering through skies with the birds. Friendly, but prefers not to interact directly. Can exchange thoughts telepathically, but with a reasonable delay.

This is a tender story about love and loyalty.
Woofy Dog is a small harmless creature from the Mesmerising Woods collection. It’s lost in the magical forest, but Woofy has the heart to travel and search for its owner’s soul in the very depths of the wild!
Every facet of this sculpture resonates with enthusiasm - the tail, fashioned as a pipe, appears poised to wag at any moment, while the ears stand at attention, eagerly awaiting to hear his master’s voice, as if he will soon come back from the Woods and be proud of how good the boy is!
But Mesmerising Creatures of the Woods know Woofy Dog mostly as resting or playing joyfully near the pond amidst the sounds of the water wheel and rustling of forest leaves in the wind.
The darkness of the magical forest itself frightens Woofy Dog so he doesn’t rush nor hustle, he knows that when he hears his owner's whistling song - he will run towards, despite the dangers and thorns he may stumble across.
This story is a tribute to Greyfriars Bobby dog, Scotland tale from the 19th century. After the death of his master Greyfriars Bobby sat on his grave for 14 years. And after Bobby's own death he was buried near his owner’s grave, so their souls would travel closer together in the stream of eternity!
A year later, the English philanthropist Lady Burdett-Coutts was touched by the story and had ordered to build a drinking fountain topped with Bobby's statue to keep the good memory.
Woofy Dog is made of Sea Buckthorn Wood, in Kharkiv, Ukraine, 1997.

Only a knife, semi-gloss varnish and love was used in the making process.
